A little known fact about me is that I go through waves of obsessions. I first noticed this when I ate chicken quesadillas for every meal in college. That lasted for almost a year, that being 7 years ago, I have not had one since. My next noticeable obsession was about 2 years ago when I had a love affair with hiking. I went nearly every day I could until I got scolded by my loving mom and husband forbidding me to go alone anymore. I actually still really like hiking I am just not allowed to go alone. Another one occurred when my husband and I were dating. He made me a bagel sandwich with cream cheese and lunch meat. But then he had this special way of smashing it just to add that extra "umph". I begged him to make that sandwich for me whenever I saw him. Then of course, one day I just stopped, and have not touched one since. These obsession take over and then are gone. I love 'em and leave 'em and never look back.
Which leads me to my current obsessions, for however long they last...
Life Savers - I rediscovered these little gems in the grocery story one day and now I buy them by the bag full.

Honeycomb - Don't pretend like you don't love these delights. If fact I am snacking on them right now. You remember them, they come in a big yellow box that you can go through in 36 hours, and I do thank you very much. My only wish is that Costco would carry them.

Do-It-Yourself Projects - I get most of my DIY ideas from other blogs I have seen. I have not actually done any of the projects I love but I will, you watch and see...
Craigslist - My first DIY project is going to be purchasing a dresser off craigslist and repainting it for Poppy's room. I look on craigslist as if it had the winning lottery number. I know I was just on it 10 minutes ago, but someone could have posted a new dresser.
This is a before and after of one that my friend did and I just love it, so inspiring!

So with any new thing it is always interesting for Kevin and I to see how long the recent new-bies stay. These are just some of my new obsessions and if I never write another post you will know that this one did not last long. We, mostly I, hope that does not happen.

ReplyDeleteHey there Amber! Comments from sisters, how cute! Also, my mom sent me your link! I just love the heck out of you! And I love your new obsessions. I am soooo excited for you two and can't wait to meet Poppy :) I just love that! I can't wait to see you all and read your next post.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Amanda Hartsoch (soon-to-be Huston :))
I hope blogging isn't a passing obsession! Keep it up... Each entry is a delight!
ReplyDeleteI have a dresser that I'm going to list as "free" on Craigslist pretty soon. I'd offer it to you, but it's one of the nasty old Armington dressers that Cory dug out of a dumpster when they remodeled the dorm. (Which was what, eight years ago?) So the offer is there. If you want a nasty dresser that should have been trash eight years ago, it's yours. :)
