I was so excited to write this post. I was sitting in a meeting this past week and a woman was talking about how she makes all of her household cleaning supplies. She not only saves money but there is no chemical worry. Not only that but she is not having to throw away any empty, once chemicaly filled, plastic bottle. She reuses the spray bottles that she mixes her solutions in, she also only uses rags to clean up. I was sitting in the meeting almost unable to sit in my seat I was so excited. One of the best things about this is that we all have most of the ingredients that are needed for almost all of the solutions. She made everything from a Wonder Spray for all surfaces, a type of soft scrub, a furniture cleaner, glass and mirror cleaner (which is actually just club soda) and so much more. Now most of the solutions call for vinegar which is not the best spell in the world, it reminds me of coloring Easter eggs, so she puts in essential oils of her choice, lemon, jasmine, lavender, almond, tangerine, whatever scent you like.

So I of course got my list together that afternoon of all the supplies I needed and I was planning on making a couple of the solutions. But this week has been super busy, work starting up again, so I have decided to push this project to this coming week. So I don't really have anything to share in this post except for the idea. But I really determined to stick it out and see how all the solutions do. Plus maybe this will get me to clean a little more. In a couple of days I hope to post pictures, comments on how they worked and recipes. If you are interested in learning more here is the book that was recommended...

31 Weeks And A Blanket

I wanted to share the blanket I made. The uneven seams and the crooked fabric really give it that used, worn look that is so popular these days....

If I ever decide to make another one of these, maybe for any other children we might have, I am starting it after I pee on that little stick. This took a little longer than anticipated.

And here is my week 31 picture. I am now moving into the phase where I have more frequent doctors appointments which I don't mind. School is starting soon and I really feel like we are on the home stretch. Silly as it sounds, it is still hard to believe that we are going to have a baby soon. The weirdest part is that I am not even nervous, just excited.

Seeing how it is summer, I have had a little bit of time to research things online and over time I would say I have become obsessed with them. The first thing I would like to talk about is Hawthorne Threads!

This place has so much fabric to pick from and when you do order the fabric it comes so quickly, I mean within days. I have been spending extra time here because....I made a bumper and crib skirt a couple of weeks ago, HATED IT, and so I went back to Hawthorne and ordered more fabric to make another one. So here are some fabrics I have been into lately. A friend of mine, http://www.beachtownfamily.blogspot.com/, made her bumper and skirt out of similar fabric and she mentioned this fabric to me and I love it.

The next thing that I would like to share is, The Pleated Poppy, http://lindseycheney.blogspot.com/. Lindsey is so creative and I love her style. She recently sold some bags and this one I just LOVE.

And I just thought this necklace was cute.

Lastly, I could not help but look up some cute clothes for our little boy. I have done a pretty good job of not actually buying any clothes for him, but to be honest, I am not sure how long I can hold out.

These cute little shoes are from Old Navy. Not that babies wear shoes.

Ok, I don't know what it is with me and babies in jammies, but I just love them and want to scoop them up. Gap, you have out done yourself.

This Little Light of Mine

During my reading this morning I was reminded and encouraged by what I read and I wanted to share.

30 Weeks

August 5, 2010

1. Sleeping has gotten a lot more uncomfortable since I can only be on my left side, he kicks like mad when I sleep on my right and I can't sleep on my back.

2. No one tells you about the leg and calf cramps you get in the middle of the night.

3. Women who ask you if you are having twins when you are 6.5 months pregnant "mean well".

4. I finally was full last night before I was done with my dinner. I think I am transitioning into smaller portions, thank goodness!!!

5. Nesting comes and goes, right now it is here and I am loving it.

6. Kevin noticed that when I bend down to get something, I don't bend, I squat.

7. I cry all the time, most of the time I don't even know why. No reason needed. My cheeks are well hydrated.

8. Everything I do needs a couple extra breaths, including, getting in the car, pouring a cup of water, getting up from the couch and even breathing itself.

9. Now that I am at the point where the baby is just getting bigger and bigger with each week, it has really reminded me that his highway is NOT getting bigger.

10. Shaving my legs in the shower looks like a fat kid on the tight rope.

11. Kev and I ate out at a restuarant the other night and he had to slide in one end of the booth because I would not fit.

12. If you ask me what we plan on naming our baby and I tell you, please don't look like you just ate some old yams you found in the fridge.

13. If at first you don't succeed, cry hysterically, apologize to your husband for the tantrum and then try again.

14. Should I be concerned that our baby is too long when I can feel him reaching around the side of me and kicking me on my back? It might be coming back to haunt me that I used to tell people I was born this height.

15. I love him.
