8 Months

Today Mick turned 8 months old. There is not a day that goes by that you dont hear Kevin or I saying how big he is. He sits up by himself, has two teeth, and within the past two days has started clapping. I have started introducing the sippy cup to him. He is a champ at sipping from it but once that cup is out of his mouth he spits the water out of his mouth. Adorable! Who needs water to drink when you can give your self a bath? So with all of this combined I thought the best place to take him to celebrate his 8 months of life, was the beach. So away we went.

Happy as a little 8 month old clam.
This never happens and I mean never, I got the camera out to snap a couple of photos and when I called his name to look at me, he loooked up and SMILED! Say what?!?! Whenever any technology comes out to capture his precious moments he stops whatever he is doing and just stares. But today he was feeling extra generous.
Just a little boy enjoying God creation.

It was such a beautiful morning. We were able to go down to the water and watch the waves come in. Putting his feet in the water was a better reaction than when we did in Hawaii. Mick is an observer, he loves to watch and study and the waves were no exception. They came in and out and he just sat and watched. As our time came to a close at the beach, I packed everything up and stared driving home. It was close to his naptime and so I was not surprised when my tuckered little baby fell asleep on the way home. Carrying my sleepy baby into the house after a morning at the beach just touched my heart. The only thing we were missing was Daddy. So we are hoping that the sun saves some heat for the weekend.
